Daniel Jones Favored To Be Next Quarterback Benched

It only took two weeks for Bryce Young to get benched in Carolina, as Andy Dalton will start Week 3 for the Panthers.

The oddsmakers are back at it, as there are new odds available on the next quarterback to be benched.

Giants signal-caller Daniel Jones is the favorite, followed by Broncos rookie Bo Nix and Patriots veteran Jacoby Brissett, per BetOnline.ag.

  • Bo Nix +600
  • Jacoby Brissett +600
  • Will Levis +800
  • Gardner Minshew +800
  • Sam Darnold +900
  • Anthony Richardson +1000
  • Caleb Williams +1000
  • Deshaun Watson +1000
  • Justin Fields +1000
  • Jalen Hurts +1600
  • Jayden Daniels +1600
  • Kirk Cousins +1600
  • Kyler Murray +2000
  • Trevor Lawrence +2000
  • Brock Purdy +2500
  • Matthew Stafford +3300

Jones rebounded in Week 2 with a decent performance, but the Giants lost to the Commanders to fall to 0-2 on the season. The season outlook seems bleak, and coach Brian Daboll may decide to insert Drew Lock at some point soon.

Bo Nix has started horribly for the Broncos, with zero touchdown passes and four picks in his first two starts. Nix figures to improve as the year goes along, but at 0-2, Denver may choose to go with a veteran in an attempt to salvage the season.

Brissett has done a good job of limiting mistakes, and the Patriots have been more competitive than expected. However, Drake Maye waits in the wings, and any struggles would allow coach Jerod Mayo to make a change.

Caleb Williams is tied for the the seventh-best odds to be the next quarterback benched. The No. 1 overall pick has struggled in his first two games, although the Bears figure to give him a long leash to figure things out.

Kirk Cousins is the most interesting pick among the longshot choices. He does not look 100% healthy coming off a torn Achilles, and first-round pick Michael Penix is waiting in the wings. However, the Falcons grabbed a last-second win over the Eagles on Monday night, alleviating the pressure on Cousins for now.
