The season has disintegrated quickly for the Dallas Cowboys, and it feels like only a matter of time until coach Mike McCarthy is fired.

The betting markets are getting a jump on the inevitable, already putting out odds to be the next coach in Dallas.

The early favorite is former Titans coach Mike Vrabel, who is listed with +300 odds.

Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, former Patriots coach Bill Belichick, Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores and Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury are among the others expected to be in the mix.

The Cowboys are 3-6 this season and quarterback Dak Prescott recently suffered an injury that put an unofficial end to their playoff hopes.

Star wideout CeeDee Lamb couldn’t see a pass in the end zone on Sunday against the Eagles because of light shining through stadium windows, while star pass-rusher Micah Parsons had some pointed postgame comments about McCarthy.

Owner Jerry Jones can be unpredictable, but it would be a shock to see the Cowboys keep McCarthy beyond this season.

Despite the woes, the opening is still a good one, as the Cowboys are one of the premier franchises in the NFL and have three stars at important positions in Prescott, Parsons and Lamb.
